As a parent of a young snowboarder I’m asked quite frequently, “Are you ever afraid that he’s going to get hurt?”. My answer to that question is no. The reason we are not afraid of injuries is because with the right protection you can really minimize the chances of serious injury. Helmets are always a necessity for any snowboarder and can reduce head injury, but our family has taken it one step further. Korey is protected with body armor by Demon Snow.
Demon Snow has some of the highest quality armor on the market for snowboarders. You can get both upper body armor and pants that can protect your youth snowboarder from some gnarly crashes. The upper body armor is made like a jacket with a zipper up the front. The armor consists of a shock absorbing rib protecter, two front accessory pockets, and thumb stirrups to prevent the arm sleeves from riding up. The armor also has memory foam padding in the shoulders, collarbone, elbows, spine, and ribs. Not only does the armor protect the rider, but from what we have experienced so far it also works like an extra base layer keeping the kids warmer during the colder weather.
So by having your kids wearing the right armor while they progress, you can minimize injuries and increase their motivation. The rider will not be worrying about injuries because they know the gear they are wearing is going to keep them safe.
